Now Playing: No surprise here

Hello all!  Tonette here, as always.  I just thought I would update our blog since things have once again changed.

This will most assuredly NOT come as any surprise to any of you wonderful people out there reading this blog.

As of right now, we are on our way to Indianapolis.  We are taking Kyle's truck back to him, tonight.  We are sick and tired of making negative checks and getting further in the hole on everything.

Like I've said many times over the last few hours, we got into this business to save ourselves financially so we wouldn't have to file for bankruptcy and we would be able to pay our bills and save up some money.  So far, we are further in debt, have filed bankruptcy, and are loosing the shirts off our backs trying to stay afloat with this company.

Suffice it to say, we are cutting our losses where they currently sit and comming home.  We figure if we are loosing everything anyway, and getting negative checks every week, making us owe Kyle $1000.00 + some right now, we might as well be at home with our family and friends where we are loved.  And at least I won't be yelled at and chewed out by the cocky finance guy anymore.

It is sad to say, but, we were making more as cashiers than we have as truckers.

I do believe there is money to be made in this industry, it's just not possible to do with this company.

So, here we are in Tennessee, on our way back to Indy to get our stuff and come home.  We should be there Saturday evening or early Sunday morning.

On the bright side, and yes, I always try to find a bright side, we have gotten to see a lot of the US and some of Canada.  I now have a great appreciation for how beautiful Arkansas is.

Anyway,  I'm rambling so I'll talk to y'all later.  See ya soon!

Been a while, I'm lazy!
Mood:  spacey
Now Playing: I'm lazy

Hi all!  Tonette here.  It's been a while.... mainly because I'm lazy.  Actually, things have been really strained with business here lately and I doubt all you guys and gals want to hear about all our woe's so I haven't been blogging just to save from ranting all the time.  Besides, most, if not all of you, have already sat through numerous gripe sessions from David and/or myself.

Just to update you guys on what has been going on since we were at home last week:

We got back to Indy and got a turck upgrade.  We are now ridding high on the hog in a 2007 Gold Freightliner Century Class Heritage Edition.  I'm not sure what that really means, but suffice it to say, we've got a NICE truck now.  As soon as we get a few hours down time where I'm not sleeping, I'll put some pics of her on the Pic page.

Right now, we are on our way to pick up a load in Springfield Tennessee that is going down to Canton Mississippi, to the NIssan Plant, we love the Nissan plant.. they aren't very nice there, but we've been there so many times now that we don't even really have to think about how to get there, we just drive.

Dave says: Hey y'all, we're commin' home in 6 months when our contract expires.

Unless things that are out of our controll let us come home sooner.

Or the situation improves spectacularly, in which case, we would stay.

Anyway, Talk to y'all later!  ByeE

Now Playing: Hola

Hello All!  Tonette here.  I just thought I'd update the blog while we are sitting here waiting for Panther to get off their butts and actually get something right for a change.

We are sitting at our shipper, which happens to be the wrong address, waiting for Panther to call us with the correct address and shipper information.

Earlier today, we got a load that picked up 2 hours after we got the offer, we were just about to leave and the load got canceled, now we're here.  It just seems like everything they do here lately is messed up.

Anywho, Just an update, we are going to be home around the last week of February for a few days to take care of some business.

Mom, I want my picture of Pebbles and Crash!

For those of you who don't know, Mom got me a puppy for my birthday.  Her name is Crash and she is part golden retreiver and part husky.  She is going to be HUGE, but hopefully friendly.

So far this month, we have been getting some pretty crappy loads.. short runs which = little money.  If it weren't for Steph's generocity, we would be in the negative $130 this week because of fuel.

We actually got a load going right through Pocatello, Idaho... the place neither Dave nor I ever wanted to go again.  It was only better the second time around because we did't actually have to stop for anything while there.

I am so sick of snow that I could scream.  And did ya know that snow is very COLD???  Yeah, I thought I really liked snow and winter and cold, turns out, I'm a punk when it comes to actual cold weather.  Arkansas doesn't get actual winter's compared to what we've been in this season.  It's been a bone chilling experience.

Well, I am doing nothing but having a gripe fest so I am going to go so as to not bore you any longer.

Talk to y'all later!

Now Playing: Hiya People

Hello all!  Tonette here on this fine California afternoon.

Yep, we're in California.  We got a load from Memphis to Ohio, then a load from Ohio down to LAS VEGAS NEVADA BABY! Then Steph, our driver manager, told us if we wanted a load any time soon to go to Los Angeles California, so here we sit.

Things are very expensive here.  Not to mention there is no grass and LOTS of desert.  I don't like it here.

To get here, we traveled through a snow storm that reached from Ohio all the way to Nebraska, where it had snowed before we got there, then we went into Colorado and although it wasn't snowing, the roads were almost completely iced over.  We were at 11,000 feet elevations high up in the rockies.  I NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER want to do that again.

As for Las Vegas, it is trashy and ugly.  The buildings are way too close together and it smells bad there.  We delivered some TVs for the Phillips TV wall for the Consumer Electronics show that will begin next week at Mandalay Bay Convention Center.  I played my first slot machine at the Mandalay Bay casino.  I was heartily dissapointed when I tried to play a slot machine with a quarter.  None of their machines (even the penny slots) take less than a dollar bill.  A ploy to make you spend more money without realizing it.

I have decided that Las Vegas can only be fun if you are drunk.  If you're not drunk, you know how much money you are spending, and if you know how much money you are spending, you are NOT having fun.  But if you're drunk, you won't know a thing.  Too bad we aren't drinkers.  Vegas was NO fun.

Anyway, I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated the web site.  Here lately we've been in areas that have very poor service as far as internet is concerned.  But fear not, we are still here.

Welp, now that I've caught everyone up on what is going on in our neck of the woods, I'm going to go and play Dynasty Warriors 3 EXTREME!

OH OH OH OH OH OH, Keith, you will be SO thrilled for us, and our.. uh... pathetic need for LU BU's 5th weapon..... WE FINALLY GOT IT.... it's just too bad that it kinda sucks... it's not even as good as his 4th weapon which we already had.. the 5th weapon takes away the +60 defense of his 4th weapon and lets you start out with Red Hare, which is nice as long as you don't get knocked off.. or have to fight anyone.  As soon as you start fighting you loose where you left your horse so it really does no good.  Oh well.

We'll talk to y'all later.  Bye-d-bye

Hello All
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Brrrr

Hello All!  Tonette here.  Ok, so a lot has happened in the last few weeks.  A quick catch up, we were home for Thanksgiving after deciding to quit and come back home for good and being talked into staying by our owner.  I'm glad we're staying with it.  I missed being on the road while we were home.  We may or may not be home for Christmas, it depends on how freight is moving at the time.

Right now, we've been back to work for a few days and are on our third load, up north, but hay, up north is a good freight zone.  And I know I spelled HAY like the horse feed and not HEY like Hey man, that's how I wanted it to be said, so there!

Anyway, we're sitting in Romulus, Michigan in a winter storm.  It's snowing and sleeting right now (see pictures on picture page), and we are under load that picks up Monday and delivers 18 miles away.  As of right now, we are a go on that load, I hope the weather doesn't get any worse.  It's been said by the weather channel that we can look for 3-6 inches of snow/sleet with a possible 10 inches by tomorrow night.  We'll have to see how it plays out.

Anyway, we have a few pics of our old truck on the picture page now.  We haven't had a chance to take any pics of the new one yet.  It's the exact same model as the old white one only this one is blue and has been converted into an extended sleeper so that it fits a queen sized bed (YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!!!!)  Take a look and come back soon to check for more updates.  Talk to y'all later.

Really tired of sitting here
Mood:  don't ask
Now Playing: aarrgg..

Hello all!  Tonette here.  I just thought I'd update the blog since we are sitting here doing nothing.  We are currently just outside of Springfield Illinois, have been since Friday evening, it is now Sunday evening and we still don't have a load.  We should have something by in the morning though.

This has been a very bad time for freight.  Nothing seems to be moving.  We actually had a really really bad week to tell the truth.  Our pay check for last week was a ZERO ballance because our fuel costs are so high.  Has any one noticed how much fuel is?  Diesel is $3.50 a gallon at the station we are sitting at right now and in California it is as high as $3.80 a gallon.  Glad we're not in Cali...

Anyway, I am NOT just going to sit here and gripe.  What I am going to do is say that we WILL be home for Christmas.  =)

Well, that's really all the news I have for now.  I will post more when I have more.  Right now, I'm a little too steamed about the current situation to think about much else and I'm sure no one wants to hear (read) me gripe anymore. =)

We'll see everyone SOON!  Talk to y'all later.

Mood:  lazy
Now Playing: I've been lazy

I know, I know, it's November 5th and I'm just now updating the blog.  In my defense, we sat for a week in the middle-of-no-where Texas.  Ended up going through Midland and went by President Bush's ranch, that was neat I guess.  I would have thought it would be better protected, but there's a fence around it with a sign telling you it's the Prez's ranch.

Anyway, the point was, we had no internet while we were in Texas and barely had a cell phone signal.

We are in Nashville Tennessee right now waiting to be unloaded.  We were supposed to be here last night, but when we got here, we found out that no one would be here to unload us until this morning, so here we sit.  At least we got paid for it, $20 per hour from 4pm yesterday to 7am this morning, for watching movies..  I'll take it.

We went through the smokey mountains again, they are absolutly beautiful, The Blue Ridge Mountains, I think, are prettier though.

Well, I guess that's all for now.  Check out the picture page, most of page 7 and everything after that is new stuff.  Talk to y'all later!
